A Bit About Me
I’m Brenda Ximena ("Xime") Roldan Romero, a Spanish/British 3D Animator with a deep passion for storytelling through animation. My journey began at Bournemouth University's NCCA (National Centre of Computer Animation), where I earned First-Class Honours in BA (Hons) Computer Animation and Visualization in 2019. I then pursued an MA in 3D Animation, graduating with Distinction in 2020. During my postgraduate studies, I had the honour of writing and directing the award-winning short film "Gaia," which received two awards and over 20 international film festival selections. I also had the privilege of participating as a mentee in the AccessVFX and Women in Animation (WIA) Circles programs, which provided me with an amazing experience as a student.

My professional career began in 2020 at Blue Zoo Animation Studios, where I worked as a Junior 3D Animator on the TV series "Pip and Posy" and the short film "Sinking Feeling." In 2021, I joined MPC London as a 3D Junior Animator, contributing to projects like "Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers" and "Prehistoric Planet." I also worked on the pre-production stages of "Prehistoric Planet" Season 2, "Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom," and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." I returned to Blue Zoo Animation Studios in 2022 as a Mid-3D Character Animator for "Pip and Posy" Season 2.
In April 2023, I joined AXIS Studios as a 3D Animator for an undisclosed Marvel project. Shortly after, I moved to Jellyfish Pictures to work on an undisclosed DreamWorks Animation feature. Currently, I’m excited to be part of the Framestore team, where I’m contributing to an undisclosed episodic project.

Beyond my work in animation, I’m deeply committed to the animation community. I teach part-time as an Animation Lecturer at Bournemouth University and frequently collaborate with international animation festivals, offering talks and masterclasses. As the Vice-Chair of London ACM SIGGRAPH, I mentor young animators, organize events, and help build opportunities for artists to connect and grow. I also play an active role in the BFX Festival, where I work on partnerships and large-scale event planning.

I grew up as a self-taught artist, inspired by my family, where technology, design, art, and music have always been central. These influences continue to shape my creative approach.

I’m passionate about creating projects that convey meaningful messages, especially those focused on environmental 'green' stories. I believe that as filmmakers, we have the power and responsibility to entertain while also educating our audiences, raising awareness, and making a positive impact on society and our planet.
